'She Hangs Brightly' is a curation of three young female photographers who have stolen our hearts. All three of these young artists work in different parts of the world, in very different ways and with different techniques, but their passion and love for the medium is evident in their art. We hope you love it as much as we do!
Aigli Andritsopoulou (b. 1989, Athens) draws on her studies in political science and her previous work in the film industry to create her striking and disturbing images which explore themes of mortality and physicality.
Jenny Woods (b. 1992, Florida) is from a rising generation of self-taught photographers. Throughout her childhood in rural America, her camera was her best friend. Now resident in Brooklyn, her work evokes her own life: the turmoil of a small town girl fighting to make it in the city.
Alice Marinelli (b. 1994, Rome) draws inspiration from her studies in art history and philosophy, using motion as her main visual language. The elusive, ghostly rendering of her subjects speaks about the loss of identity and form that human beings suffer in contemporary society. Yet, at the same time, her pictures disclose a human, innate search for uniqueness.
